Clean up Mission Kerala

Making S'pore Clean

Every city, or community is guided by certain principle. Sometimes it's the culture built over generations or a new concept is created by a new system or leader. For example of positive culture in Singapore was brought it by the Prime Minister of Singapore in 60's. One aspect of the change he envisioned was a cleaner, and vibrant Singapore.

On the same lines, it's time we take departure of the current standards to move forward to a cleaner place. However, we need a leader to take charge of such movement!

I just came across a well planned Facebook Page called https://www.facebook.com/gardensbythebay , The intro of the page says this

Gardens by the Bay is a horticulture-themed leisure destination in the heart of the city that brings a world of plants to Singapore.

After seeing such initiatives in Singapore, I thought if Kerala could take lessons or inspiration to make itself a garden destination. Also, it takes up the mission to become the cleanest state in India.

Just wishing!

Here's a short process

1. Every panchayat should have a community team, irrespective of the party based politics ( Young and Old, men and women). This team should work voluntarly towards cleaning the roads, bylanes, garbage collection, sorting, etc. The plan is to involve public is making the locality clean.

2. Set up horticultural clubs for spreading the concept of having flowering plants in public places

3. The team will train people on how to conduct nature tours and information about local flora

4. Set up green houses where people can learn gardening 365 days a year.

5. Set up garden spaces for Roses, Orchids and ferns.
