Perumathura Beach |
While walking on the water breaker, we could see many people fishing using different rods and line. When I asked about the fishes that are usually caught here, a person said Hamour, and few other fish names which I can't recollect.
On seeing it, I wish I too should try my luck with fishing here. Also, I wish there was someone who could teach beginners on how to fish in this area!
Here is an opportunity for skill share at this place ( learn angling at Perumathura)
- What's the best bait to be used here?
- Which type of fishes are usually caught here?
- How to throw a line?
- Which type of hook is better?
- Is the throw line better or rod with reel?
- Where to buy fishing rods? ( Amazon or Decathlon)
- What are the things to be carried on a fishing trip?
- How to make the trip memorable?
- How to make a daily living by fishing?
- Is there any place where they can prepare the fish caught here?
- Will such a place provide clean loo, and beer for cash?
- What are the safety tips, especially while fishing in this area?
- Where to buy prawns in this locality ( to use as baits)
- How about fishing trips for foreigners who visit Kovalam or Varkala?
- After a fishing trip, will get to enjoy fish barbecue and beer in a spot by the backwater?
- What's the best timing to catch fish? ( Is it in the morning or evening?)
- How to support the local community? Can someone from here collect such requirements and post on a blog or a site. Probably, such efforts will get attendtion from generous people. Things like - Money to build a bus shelter or buy a water heater in an Anganwadi, or get a window's house repaired, or support a old couple, or give financial support to an academically bright student, etc
Btw, I just checked the price of hamour fish at store in Tvm. It's Rs 960 a kg. ( That's too pricey). After knowing that, I have a strong desire to go to Perumathura and try my luck. Kittiyal oru hamour, poyal oru konju! ๐Angler at Perumathura Pozhi
