Accumulated Dirt - Needs Scrub |
Took these pic from the recent trip in Humsafar train which I boarded from SMVT station. For the first time, I saw this innovation which appeared useful. But as you can see, it has brought another problem. FREE DIRT!
Now the Question!
- Who's going to clean the dirt which has slowly built around it?
- Before it was fixed here, did the planners think of this problem?
- Train commuters usually keep food on this tray to eat! So, it's always a recurring problem, unless it's cleaned regularly after each trip.
- Wonder how many days this dirt has accumulated?
- Is cleaning staff told to give a good scrub here? Is this spot included in their cleaning checklist?
- And what all virus thrive here! ( Lab report) ๐
So, what's the way out!
1. Give training to house keeping staff to scrub the platform using a brush with thick bristles. After cleaning it with the brush, use cloth to wipe it.
2. When the house keeping staff comes for evaluation, include specific areas which have to be kept clean.
3. With every innovation or hack, suggest a process to maintain it.
4. Is there a evaluation to check if it's beneficial for passengers or does the problem outweigh the solution.
Thanks,

P.S - I'll be sending this blog to the Station Manager at SMVT and to IRCTC. Hope they will do what's required!
