Today, my scooter got punctured  while I was at Yatri Fuel Pump near Vikas Lane, Kunnukuzhy. It was the air filling guy who noticed it. How earth did it happen here! After a puncher, just like any other person, I was thinking what to do, where to go to fix it. And, today being a Sunday most puncher shops will be closed. Luckily, the guy who fills the air showed me the sticker of a mobile puncher fella.

when I called the guy, he said that it will cost Rs 300 for the service. I said it's fine. He was near Medical College and he reached in some time. After checking the tube, he said that the tube has to be replaced. So, with the tube change, I paid Rs 650. Overall happy with the service and the fast process. 

One improvement/suggestion for such biz - he threw the plastic cover of the new tube. I guess most people are not concerned about putting waste in the right place. Anyways, I picked it and put it in my scooter. 

Another thought crossed my mind with the unexpected tire puncher scenario! In life, we face various types of punctures ( health issues, hospitalization or other contingencies) which require cash and only cash. So, how many of us are prepared with a reserve to meet such expenses?

Suggestion to Yatri Pump Staff/Management:

1. A 24/7 puncher unit in this spot will be big convenience. The existing staff could be trained to do this. Value addition to the biz!

2. When I asked the pump fella if he knew of any puncher shop near by he immediately said NO. What's this f***ing NO. Is this the way to respond. I bet, 99% of sales staff in any pump will give a similar reply.

But for a moment just imagine, if all the staff in a petrol pump is trained to give correct replies or assistance to various questions which customers are likely to ask in a petrol pump. Questions like,  where is next puncher shop or car repair or bike repair shop, where is the closest veg hotel, where to stay near to this locality, where can I hire a driver, where to get a seat upholstery work, where is the closest electric charging point, where is the closest hospital, where to get emission test, closest spot to get vehicle insurance, etc.

3. The guy who's was filling the tire, took the effort to get a plier to see if the tube valve which went inside could be pulled to fill air. ( Thanks for his extra effort) 

4. They can start a vehicle insurance service in one corner space of the pump. It make the task easy and add more value to the pump. Make a Slogan - Renew Your Insurance in just 10 mins! 

5. If space permits, a car, scooter quick cleaning facility could be opened. ( Again, pitch as in, quick car wash service)

6. Juice or coffee booth and other kadi ( See the coffee booth at SUT hospital for reference)
