Boosting Fish Sales in Shops with This Strategy

||Hello folks. 

This is one of my shrewd plans or you can think as a very honest marketing plan to reach more customers for a fish store. Well, this plan is specifically to fish shops like, GoFish, or Blue Sea Fish or to King Fish in Trivandrum. 

To those who aren't aware of these fish vendors, here's one line about them. These three names I have given are the names of biggie fish shops in Trivandrum. GoFish has a fairly big shop  at Murijapalam area, which procures fish from Vizhijam.

Bluesea fish started before Covid. They had a shop at Poonthi Road, but now they are operating from Vettucadu side. Most of their fish is from a limited and fresh catch from that coastal side. One highlight of their fish store is that most of their stock gets over by 10 ish. 

And, King Fish, they procure their fish from Nendakaara or other fishing harbor. So, all three have a sizable market share in Trivandrum. 

So, if they are having a fairly good sales, they why should they aim for bigger share? Well, up to them. I'm just suggesting a plan ( modus Operandi). 

So, here's a simple plan to get more audience.

In this plan, I'm basing the plan for Gofish which is located near Kumarapuram. 

Let's begin the plan:
Here in Kumarapuram junction, on the side road, there's a place where couple of fisher women who sell fish. Also, there's one man who sits in one side and sells his share of fish. All in all, there are six or seven vendors and an old lady who sells tapioca, etc. 

As per my plan, Gofish has to setup a small booth by the side of the existing fish vendors! Does it sound outrageous? Probably it's, given the nature that these people who are over protective of their territory! Also, who would want a big shop keeper to show their presence in their midst! Well, no one who does biz will appreciate such intrusion! 

One more thing is that there's space is one side at Kumarapuram, where they can safely setup a booth without disturbing other vendors.
Second, this booth is not going to a competition for these ladies, as the price of fish sold by Gofish booth will be in higher price bracket.

More importantly, before any such plan, these people has to be approached thorough a middle-man and they must be explained about it correctly. Only after their approval this plan can be executed. How to convince them is left to your skill.

( If the existing fish vendors do not allow them to be in the same area, then they can set the booth in any other road side where there's place for people to park and buy)

2. The booth will be small with a small roof for just one person. The booth will have a small display area where few fishes will be displayed. Also, other fish will be kept in two other ice boxes. Each stall will be manned by two people. It will only be open for 2-3 hrs in the morning. 

WHY SET-UP A FISH BOOTH BY THE ROADSIDE? 

There are Three reasons for doing this project.

1. If there's a roadside booth near their outlet in Kuramurapm, then GoFish with it's unique Yellow branded logo will get added publicity. 

2. The customers who come to the booth can be shown their full store collection on a small monitor placed in the booth. With the view of fishes, the price list will be displayed in a whiteboard. So, the person at the counter can order for more variety of fish by connecting with the shop. For this, the counter staff should have a fast process to help them order and get it delivered to their house address. ( Probably, as an incentive, the delivery can be made FREE for the first order from the booth/counter) 

3. These booth will attract high-end buyers who are not familiar with the Gofish shop. So, by this, this fish shop gets more customer directs from the road side booth. 

4.When a customer visits the counter, and buys fish, the staff at the counter, can ask for their mobile number to add it to their Whatsapp community. This way, Gofish can add more customer on a daily basis. The booth staff must be cordial and explain that these fishes are chemical free, where the fish is procured,  how to order fish, or how is fish delivery. They can even suggest the customer to pick by using Swiggy Genie.

If feel that out of 10 new customers who join the whatsapp from the booth, at least one or two will place order for home delivery. Thereby, GOfish gets new customers on a daily basis. 

This booth or small counter can be replicated by another other fish stall, even in other location or places. 


What's the Purpose of All This Promotion!

Each biz, especially fish shops should start with a policy to clear the stock as early as possible. This commitment is the first thing most shop keeper should have. 

So, with good publicity, and quality offering, fish will get sold faster than the existing system. In this way, there won't be any need to freeze the fish for the next day! However, if we look at most fish shops in Trivandrum, they have staff who sit all day long in the stop to clear their stock. This long working hours of operation, increases the working cost. So, open the shop, procure limited stock and sell it within a pre-planed time. And, then deep clean the shop by 3PM and down the shutter by 4:PM. Whatsay!
