Coconut Based Products - Catalogue |
I'm just wondering about our attitude towards marketing! I mean the people in general from the land of coconuts- Kerala. From my interaction with the people, close ones and the general public, there's an inherent tendency of self pride in every thing!
What makes me think of this: Here are two things:
1. when it comes to promoting a product or service, we pretend as if the biz is on a high pedestal.
2. Our usual customer service attitude is this - let them come to me! I'm not going to chase customers. I'm also not going to change the way I'm doing. This attitude is seen mostly in Govt enterprises, even small biz too.
Is it that we mallus are too proud in their land? And, when we go elsewhere, we shove our pride up ups ar#se! We just become like meek mouse - when we work outside Kerala!
Outside of Kerala - we have No Prashnam! No lofty bourgeois dialogues! No slogans to show our communist routings! We are just another obedient, functioning cog in the industrial system, just living for the monthly pay check!
I don't know why I got carried away with this concept! This post is not about the attitude of our people in general! Well, i can't generalize this attitude, but it's a tendency I see quite often!
Well, the post is just to show how a small agro biz based in the costal town of Maharashtra is able to show more punch through online mediums.
The question for our coir product manufacturing private firms, Kerala Coir Board, and other co-operative societies is this:

- Do you have a dedicated team or individual managing your online marketing efforts?
- Do you track website traffic?
Website Presence
- Does your website include a dedicated section for coir-based products, with clear descriptions and pricing?
- How often is the website updated with new content, such as blogs, product launches, or news?
- Is your website optimized for search engines (SEO), and do you track website traffic using tools like Google Analytics?
- Does your website have an integrated e-commerce feature for direct sales, or does it primarily direct inquiries?
Social Media Marketing
- How often do you post on Facebook, and what types of content perform best (e.g., videos, images, testimonials)?
- Are you running Facebook Ads, and if so, how do you target your audience (e.g., demographics, interests)?
- How do you engage with followers on Facebook (e.g., responding to comments, direct messages)?
- What kind of visual content do you share on Instagram to showcase your coir products?
- Do you use Instagram Stories, Reels, or Highlights to promote your products and interact with followers?
- Are you collaborating with influencers or using hashtags to expand reach on Instagram?
Online Promotion Sites (e.g., OLX, Quikr, !Similar Platforms)
- What types of coir-based products are listed on platforms like OLX, and how do you optimize listings for visibility?
- How frequently do you update listings to ensure they remain active and relevant?
- Do you use premium features on these platforms (e.g., promoted listings) to improve visibility?
These questions aim to uncover the business’s current strategies, the effectiveness of their efforts, and potential areas for improvement in using online marketing platforms effectively. Let me know if you need help analyzing these responses or crafting follow-up questions!

Also, view their YouTube channel on how they are using customer reviews, employee feedback, product information using short videos!
Now, the question to other firms dealing with similar products is this:
1. Are you have YouTube, Facebook and Instagram ( All these are free channels for publicity)
2. If yes, how often do you create content
3. If you compare with this biz, how good or bad are you in using these online channels ( This is just to benchmark )
