There Shall Be Showers of Blessing - To You!

Recently at the church, the young choir team sang this hymn in a beautiful way. This was quite unexpected in the Malayalam mass.

Beautiful song isn't! Isn't just lovely feeling to wish someone showers of blessing!
Btw, I asked chatgpt about this hymn. Here's the answer:

There Shall Be Showers of Blessing" is a hymn. It is a well-known Christian hymn written by Daniel Webster Whittle in 1883, with music composed by James McGranahan. The lyrics are based on the Bible verse Ezekiel 34:26, which speaks about God's promise of blessings. The hymn expresses themes of hope, faith, and the abundance of God's blessings.

So, what's the other learning from this Sunday at the church!

1. Last week's church collection came down. I feel, church needs to find new channels to generate income as the offerings are relatively stagnant.. There could be many reasons, which I'm not sure. One reason is low number of church goers.

2. To monetize through other channels, there's my other plan. I had shared in one of the earlier posts. However, I'm repeating it here. What if the church had recorded today's closing hymn. Then edit it to include the lyrics and upload it on their YouTube channel

Well, monetization won't happen overnight. Why I'm highlight this is that most churches, institutions ignore the power of YouTube as a channel to engage with their audience and monetize in a small way.

So, here's the step by step plan on how church can monetize through YouTube or Fb or Insta channels.

One more thing. Before taking up such projects, create a team of young fellas and girls ( millennials or Generation Z) from the parish who has knowledge of web, video editing, image editing and content creation

Here’s a step-by-step plan for how a church can monetize its content through YouTube: ( Reply by ChatGPT ๐Ÿ‘‡)

Create a YouTube Channel
Set up a dedicated YouTube channel for your church with a strong brand identity (logo, channel art, etc.).

Post Consistent Content
Upload regular content such as sermons, Bible studies, worship music, testimonials, and church events.

Build a Subscriber Base
Encourage church members and the online community to subscribe to the channel by promoting it through newsletters, social media, and during services.

Meet YouTube Monetization Requirements
Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria:

At least 1,000 subscribers
4,000 watch hours in the past 12 months
Comply with YouTube’s community guidelines
Apply for YouTube Partner Program (YPP)
Once eligible, apply for the YouTube Partner Program to begin monetizing through ads.

Enable Ads on Videos
After joining YPP, enable ads on videos to earn revenue. Choose ad formats such as skippable ads, display ads, and overlay ads.

Create and Offer Memberships
Enable the Channel Memberships feature, allowing subscribers to pay a monthly fee for exclusive content like behind-the-scenes videos or Q&A sessions.

Use Super Chats and Super Stickers
Activate Super Chats and Super Stickers during live streams, where viewers can pay to have their messages highlighted.

Sell Merchandise
Use YouTube’s Merch Shelf feature to promote and sell church-branded merchandise like t-shirts, books, or candles, statues, photo frames on the channel.

Promote Donations
Add a Donate button or direct viewers to your church’s website or donation page using video descriptions or YouTube Cards.

Promote Affiliate Links
Share affiliate links for books, devotionals, or church resources in your video descriptions to earn commissions on purchases.

By following these steps, your church can start generating revenue through YouTube while sharing its message with a broader audience.

Prior to all these, church authorities has to obtain permission from the Bishop House of the respective area, before embarking on this.

Well, all these lists are a bit exhaustive. What I would suggest is just to start a channel and share few selective sermons, probably make YouTube Shorts and upload them, and share hymns sung in the church, etc.

What do you think?
