Jyothi's Mangooz - Mango Juice by Kerala Agro Fruit Products

Jyothi Mango Juice from Agro Industries Outlet

Every time me and mom visit Agro Super Bazaar  near Fort Mission Girls Hy School, we invariably drink a bottle or two of this bottled mango juice. Just like many who visit this store, it's a thirst-quencher and it's tasty. And, it's ideally kept near the entrance of this store.

More about Agro Super Bazar

Agro Super Bazar, the one-stop center for farm-based products, gardening implements, plants and preserves started more than a decade back.. That's a pretty long time for it to grow, flourish and establish? However, I feel that more growth and revenue could be achieved from each such centres.

Well, I'm not just saying. I have a practical plan for it! ( Anyone listening?)

Suppose I'm in charge of marketing Joythi Mango juice in Trivandrum, what will I do? Or, let's assume that you own juice brand. What will you do to increase sales, revenue and make this brand a common place in the market?

So, here's the list of places, where this state run mango juice can find new customers without much hassle.

1. Set up sale counter with a display fridge for keeping juice at Trivandrum Medical College ( Select areas where people frequent). This counter will keep Jyothi juice, Milma products, water from Acqua,

2. Create a selling counter at Thampanoor bus stand and in other bus depots like Attingal, where there are chances of sales of small to medium size juice bottles.

3. Promote these in govt colleges like ( Trivandrum Engineering College, Barton Hill college, Arts College, etc)

4. Set one booth near the parking area of Kovalam ( Here it will be sold in an e-auto, where similar products like juices, milma ice cream, water, etc will be sold). Govt will give the allotment to deferentially-abled people to run the sales from an electric auto.

5. Special banner and open fridge in Indian Coffee house which will sell these juices

6. Special booths for sale of these juices, Sambaram by milma during Ponkala, Vettucadu festival, booth at Kannakakunnu and Napier Museum. Here the Milma stall can also accommodate this juice, apart from the one at KTDC stall

7. Keep a counter inside District Collector's office, Trivandrum. In this Civil station building, there are ample space to keep a counter. As I mentioned earlier, a space for a glass door fridge could be used to keep Jyothi mango drink, state run Hilly Acqua bottled water, and Milma products.

8. Taluk office, Trivandrum and similar taluk offices in Trivandrum district could be another outlet. Also, Vikas Bhavan at PMG ( parking area) could be a spot. Corporation office, Secretariat campus ( South gate side) or in Annex building, World Market near Bypass, etc.

. Another way to push the sale of this products are in apartments! I had earlier mentioned the same strategy with Hilly Acqua.

9. Here's another plan! Why not get ladies ( actors/personalities or common people) who has the name Jyothi and get them to promote your brand? ( Something which can resonate with the audience)

Btw, few suggestions to manager of Agro Industries and those in charge of its website:

1. Kindly include couple of pics of Jyothi mango juice. ( Create a menu which makes it easy to find the product)

2. Create mini Agro Industries outlet in KSRTC bus depots ( With products and sale of seeds, seelings, and few popular plastic pots, knife to pluck mangoes, etc)

3. Each year after the peak sale of products, they have to make a list of the top 10 fast moving products and highlight it on the page. It makes people to access such details and information.

4. Create posts which will help home gardners with tips on vegetable growing. It can be a short 2 minute video on each type of plant care.

5. Engage with budding influencers who would be willing to cover your store without payment ( Put such an renouncement on your Facebook page)

6.Internship at

Internship Opportunity ( Make it more Vocal)

This should be open for all students, not just meritorious ones. ( Instead of looking at the score card for selection, let a small panel conduct an online interview and access if the person is fit for the job. During the interview, check if they have similar experience, and other soft skills and technical skills like content creation on social media , video editing skills, innovation skills, etc)

Just imagine, a student who is willing to work for free or a stipend should be given an opportunity as it's beneficial for your organization. This sort of work is ideally done for a period of 6 months to 12 months.

What are the kind of work which an intern can do?

1. Stock tracking ( entering into the CRM system)
2. Work alongside of the staff to help the customers
3. Assist the cash counter staff to fasten the process ( they can check the items, scan or recheck before it's billed. This will delay the process)

4. Give them training on how to address customer queries at the Agro store
5. Get students who are good with digital marketing ( creating posters, short videos on prodcuts). They will post on your Facebook and Inst page.

6. Update the website. Currently on the career page, you have listed old entries. Give these a scrub and provide the latest job openings.

7. Teach kids on how to set-up drip-irrigation on terraces. ( You can also form a team which will set client's place to set-up drip irrigation). In such installation service, a trained intern will be a value-added resource. Btw, do you have such a service ( installation of drip-irrigation on terrace and open land). If no, then you can start one!

Finding Profit Pockets?

A question to ask your team...

How much of revenue comes from the public sector distribution?

Few questions to Agro Super Bazar?

1. Why haven't you stocked Hilly Acqua Bottle in your store?

2. Have you created short videos on Farm Machineries usage, tips and maintenance.
2. Have you thought of having a tie-up with Swiggy or Porter app service to deliver your good to people who visit to buy without visiting your store?

3. How about starting a Whatsapp group, where you can list out the new stock, prices, collection of plants, etc. ( or it could be a Facebook page). For managing both these digital channel, you can recruit two or three interns. It will be their responsibility to update the Whatsapp channel with daily pics, price, and even arrange online payment. Once the payment is received, they can book a Swiggy genie or Porter app to deliver the goods at the customer's place. The delivery charge will be collected from the customer.

A part of the profit from such sales could be used to give as stipend to the interns! What say?
