Nurses Forum in Church ( forums and groups in Church )

Occasionally I hear the priest in our local parish telling this in his announcement - Nurses Forum will meet on so an so date, Doctors Forum, Teachers Forum, etc. So, today, I was thinking what all other groups ( people with similar interest) can add value to parishioners.

Here's what my biased mind could think of:

1. Plant exchange and Sale Group

2. Book readers forum ( Share the latest read. Also, exchange of book or sale of old books)

3. Music ( Practice musical instruments, teach one another how to play an instrument, tutition for those who likes to learn, etc)

4. Craft forum ( Those who like all sorts of craft work - members can share their skill, or people can share their art class details) Stiching class, Macmery workshop, free book cover class, etc

5. Small Biz forum ( Sharing ideas, share people's small biz fb page for getting likes, suggest biz improvement plans, etc)

6. Food biz ( Form a group of people who are into food and snack making.

7. Schooling, Tuition ( Parents can join to discuss about kid's education, learning hacks, tutition class information, etc)

8. Robotics group ( For those who like to delve into robots and similar tech)

9. Travel hub ( People who like travelling can form a group to share their latest trip stories, etc)

10. De-clutter group - This group will share ideas on how to organize things, reduce clutter and make house a clean, efficient space.

11. Clean-up group - People in this group will meet once in two months and organize a clean-up activity.. It could be cleaning the space around a govt school, or a pavement, or fixing a porthole on the road, etc

12. Employment forum - Members will share the job openings, organize workshops on career development, etc.

========================

Here's what ChatGPT says about the common groups in a chruch:

Choir Group – Leads worship through music and singing.

Youth Group – Engages teenagers and young adults in faith-based activities.

Sunday School – Teaches children about the Bible and faith.

Men’s Ministry – Fellowship and activities for men within the church.

Women’s Ministry – Focuses on spiritual growth and support for women.

Bible Study Group – Gathers to study scripture and discuss its application.

Prayer Group – Prays together for church members and broader concerns.

Outreach/Mission Group – Involves members in community service and mission work.

Elder or Deacon Board – Provides leadership and spiritual guidance to the church.

Usher and Greeter Team – Welcomes and assists people during church services.

Altar Servers – Assists clergy during church services, especially in liturgical settings.

Hospitality Group – Organizes events and ensures fellowship through food and welcoming new members.

Young Adult Group – Supports the spiritual and social needs of young adults.

Couples/Marriage Group – Focuses on strengthening marriages and providing guidance to couples.

Media/Tech Team – Manages sound, lighting, and digital presentations during services.

Children’s Ministry – Provides activities and learning opportunities for younger children.

These groups help foster community, service, and spiritual growth within a church.

Btw, the idea of forum or groups is not limited to chruch. It could be formed in residents associations, apartment residents groups, office groups, friends groups, old boys group, temple groups, and more.
