What if BEVCO had an option to Collect empty bottles in this site! ( Customers Pay to discard glass bottles) |
I'm back to BEVCO building, situated on the road between Uloor - Prasanth Nagar side. It's a small building which has booze counters! The entire permises is badly maintained, unclean and hideous. However, as a monopoly, customers have no choice, but to go through the unkept site.
For this visit, I went to the first floor, so called Premium counter! It's a space, where three or more people would make it look crowded! So, here are my observation!
1. Wish they had a white board with the names of beer available here!
2. While I was climbing up, I saw an elderly gentleman clutching a liquor bottle in his hands. Due to the steep step, he was struggling to climb down! What a shame! No easy pathway to reach the first-floor! What's the big propaganda about accessibility features in govt offices! It's just lip-service when this outlet and one at Mulava has their premium counter on the first floor.
3. I asked the counter lady if there's coco cola bottle. She looked puzzled at my question. Now, how I wished, they sold chilled soda, ice cubes, cola. Give choices to customer, earn freaking profit from it too!
4. Today I saw a news item on Hindu. It said that govt is planning to sell chips and Sharkara partiyathu made by Kudambashree during Onam. So, on the same lines, local Kudambashree units could be given an option to keep their homemade savory items in BEVCO centre.
5. Do they sell cloth bags for customers to carry booze! I once got a bag, but most times it's not available! So, try to use local biz units to make custom made bags which people can use to carry bottles.
6. This is more far fetched! How about selling, smoked chicken or beef in these counters! I know it's expensive. But, some local biz can be given a chance!
7. The time I visit was around 4PM. Only few people where at the counter ( Local and Premium counter). Probably, by 6, more customers will land here! So, my question is, are young gen boys and girls swayed by synthetic drugs than by booze?
I recently heard a top cop in Kochi telling the rampant use of MDMA in Kochi, especially people working in private companies and so on. And, there are regular reports of young boys arrested in drug transporting and sale. If this is the state we're in today, our time is ticking. We got to do something to make booze a cool stuff that getting into the habit of taking drugs. What do you say?
Why not give licence to start draught beer in our state so that we will have more pubs with music and beer. And, in that way, we can sway the hearts of boys and girls from the habit of taking drugs.
Btw, we need to do something about the fact that drugs are gaining ground! So, let's promote the lesser and known devil!
Govt should think of adding more outlets, from this point of view! What you say? We don't want more zombies in our state!
8. Can someone use a auto-driver to buy booze from an outlet? Is it legal? Is yes, then why can't BEVCO start a booze home delivery option!
