Why should a Young Person in 2024 Work in a Bank?

 I just visited a near by bank. The bank counter staff were all young recruits, full of enthusiasm, on their learning curve. Yes, they were in their 20's or early 30's. And, while I waited to get another enhancement to my gold loan, I was listening how the bank manager ( another young chap) was trying to pacify an irate person who in his 70's was going non-stop about a service delay! Whatever the shit, the young people behind the counter had to go through all these freaking aspects of this job. But, yes, there are many who loves such kind of job!

And, I thought and I wondered why there's a big demand for bank job among young people, people with so much talent, skills in their  life? Is it b'cos, jobs are scarce? 

There are few obvious answer to the question why the young folks are working as cashier, clerk and as bank manager:

1. Salary is good in a bank ( my guess)
2. Bank job gets respect and status ( Not much questions asked)
3. Good value in the marriage market
4. More-or-less secure job ( Don't have to worry like an IT employee)
5. Work timings are good ( They are likely to make a 5 day week)
6. Feels important working in a bank
7. Opportunity to interact with different sections of people
8. Get a peed inside the accounts of super rich in the locality. And, know who are making big money in the market, which biz is soaring.

9. Also, interact with local paupers ( like me), the kind of blokes who are looking for loan, and who almost runs with zero balance money. 😊


Why should a person not work in a bank in 2024 

Gone are the years when State Bank of Travancore and whole lot of other banks existed and earned profit. In these times, the survival of bank itself is hanging in jeopardy. We know how banks are merging to form an agile entity to tide over the changes in the market!

What else can a Young Person Do or Get a Job in 2024

1. The work makes people tied to a room from morning to evening ( That's crazy)

2. Work pressure, targets from above, frequent transfers, etc make life miserable

3. Not much room for creativity. Bank follows a system and that has to be adhered!
