A pleasant orange shade of sky tone visible on the horizon, which was quite unexpected. Usually such colors play when it's dusk.

How often do you say gratitude towards people who appeared on a day and made things easy for you? 

Well, during the train trip I heard a talk by Tara a known person in the field of neuro science. And, after I heard her talk, I felt that I need to set some time aside to say gratitude for the experience and the moment. 

And, thinking of the time spend with the couple at my house in Domlur, I feel really thankful towards them for spending their time.

Having a coffee or visiting coffee house should be more than just having coffee. I feel it's best if you meet someone to chat or to renew friendship. 

As of me, my network is weak. Which makes me more like a loner in this city. So, it's just me and my coffee and me looking around to watch what other people are doing. 

As it was around 1PM, few were having lunch, and most people ordering coffee and other bites.

The parking ticket at MG road came to Rs 30 odd and I ran out of cash! Pathetic. 

How low can you go living like this. 

After living all these years, listing to all the motivational talk, talking big to other people, I feel I have betrayed myself. 

So, inspired for the dire need for change, I started this blog to track my personal growth and financial growth. 

I hope I had enough of being in the rut. So, it's time to plan systematically and emerge myself as a new person.

And, I also hope this won't be like a new year resolution I used to take many, many years back.

Some Suggestion for Whatsapp ( Old ideas)

 Hi,

I'm just sharing a thought about a WhatsApp tweaks that came to my mind. After I penned  the first point which was my key thought, I felt I need to share few of sharing few other suggestions and random features I would like to see on Whatsapp.

Tweak #1

Basically, when an unauthorised user opens a Whatsapp app, they can easily see all the chat conversations. And, we know from practical experience that mobile phones gets lost or when someone gains access to the mobile, the information is compromised. In such cases, end-to-end encryption is of no use.

So, here's a little hack that could be done to safeguard the privacy of the user.

1. A safety lock on all the chats ( Probably, it could be limited to 10 accounts)

2. Safety lock can be activated for each user chat by pressing on the individual chat or  by clicking on the right side menu. ( View contact -> Media Links - Search - Lock chat* - Mute Notification , etc)

3. When the chat is locked, a person gains unauthorized access, he or she would not be able to see chats. ALso, the trick is that locked profile wont' any icon or sign to tell that world that it's a locked profile.

Tweak #2

Verified tick for Organizations, Celebrities, Not for Profit companies, etc

- Just like Twitter under Mr Elon Musk, a charge can be levied to get the verified status.

This will make it easy for people to chat with a Govt department or a Bank, etc.

Whatsapp during Natural Calamity or Crisis Management

- This could be an extension of what Facebook is doing. Whatsapp as fast channel, it can be of big help for teams who are trying to organize an search activity to find a missing person or to organize a team during flooding, or a large scale calamity.

- WhatsApp application can include option for user to integrate Google Earth, Map to pin point and track activities.

For example if a search activity is combing a certain area, then it can tap can color code that area on the map. This will help other team

members to know the area covered.

- There can be wider use and application of this facility, which would require major to minor tweaks on the platform.

Facebook for Philanthropy or foster giving in a community

I somehow got a feeling that Facebook Marketplace is filled with lot of junk ads and the listing is bogus. I have visited it couple of times but all these felt like a series of listing which does not take anywhere.

While FB marketplace is a space to list people’s used or unwanted household items, it has attracted many brokers of all sorts, and people who use clickbait headlines to spam or call.

So, here's something new menu for social giving.

This is just for people who like to donate stuffs for free. This could be a sub-menu under Community Resources.

The UI interface of this menu should be planned differently. Instead of typical listing as seen on Marketplace, here the users should be able to select the location and find out all the things available, with the distance.

Something like this ----->

1. You are here ( Location Pin)

2. Baby car seat available in 7 km ( contact)

Also, under this menu, Not for Profit, Orphanages, Old Age homes can list their requirement. This will make it easy for people to donate or give things directly to the needy charity organization.

For example a govt school can list their requirement - 1. Require a fan, 2. Water cooler, 3. Solar panel , etc. I feel that most govt entities in India have a scarcity of things and they don't have a mechanism to collect donation from public. For instance, a govt hospital works with fewer resources, such as lack of clean water, lighting and heating facility, pillow or cot for patients, So, if there's a way Facebook to allow such organizations to list items they require, then anyone can contribute or gift any of these items.

Tweak #5

Finally, here's a menu which I would to see. Here's the thing. I'm part of group which is filled with lot of fanatic msgs. I thought many times to exit the group. Then I felt that it would be rude to one guy who introduced me. Also, I want to see how these crazy nuts are having on their mind. But, all these msgs are really lopsided.

But, now I feel the messages are very communal and biased to the particular community. My guess is that such groups are dime  a dozen.

So, the question is that I want to be in that group but I don't want to see any messages appearing on my wall. So, is there a option to mute all msgs from appearing.

Btw, it should be better than Mute or Block!

What the Heck is Rich Life? Is it an Utopian concept?

 I first heard of rich life from Ramith Seth. In his blogs, newsletter and book, he highlights his journey from being an obscure Indian in America to living a life filled with deep experiences. So, what is rich life about.

From what I infer from bits of reading from the web, rich life is about a balanced life.

#1 Have money ( earn money which is not tied to the clock)
#2 Travel and adventure ( Explore places, views and sites)
#3 Connect with family 
#4 Give back to the society
#5 Laugh daily
#6. Enjoy good food and share it
#7 Connect spiritually ( Inner consciousness)

#12 Read and share nuggets of learning to people
#13 Drink and enjoy beer
#14 Make new things 
#15 Have good sex (All things are fine)

#17 Volunteer to any cause 
#18 Help someone to start a biz or find an earning

Do you have a regular brand of spirits which you order?
Are you one of the folk who would go with anything and everything?
Have you tasted 999 rum? 

One of the weekday, I went for a drinking time with my two other colleagues to this bar at Kazhakuttom. We settled at the basement place as it suit our budget. The beef we ordered initially had no flavor or taste! I wish all the bars come with something new, in their menu? But, why should they care? 

This is true with majority of organization which feel no desire to change. These are evident with companies which are monopolies. One is our beverage retail units in Kerala. It's so, so evident that they don't have to do anything to improve. A simple thing in a unit like this is about carry bag. Why can't they sell cotton bags which will be a big help to the customer. All they have to do is to request a kudambaree unit to make one for them. Of course they should specify the quality, size and specification. The bags should be strong enough to carry couple of beers. So, the base of the bag should be made of carboard or thick material. 

And, while talking about Milma, I used to think why they don't supply bags at the Milma counter at Pattom. I had asked couple of times when I visited their outlet. ( before Covid era). I knew that they didn't have the bag, yet I asked the counter staff. The dudes there had the same answer! 

Now, Milma is loosing market share due to the entry of new players, like Muralaya, or many other milk brands. Earlier when I passed be Milma in the morning I often used to see customer at the counter. Now, I hardly find one. 

So, if the Milma administration is seeing this post, then you can think of keeping bags at the counter. And same as above, you can raise a tender with any Kudambasree organization to make cotton bags with Milma logo. Also, small brown covers made of recycled paper could be a thing to do. What you say milma boss?
