Do you know your neighbor?

Nikunjam Apartment at Kazhakuttam

I have never lived in an apartment. Also, I'm never a fan of convenient and packaged living spaces. I often wonder if neighbors nod each other while they cross their path or they just walk pass without showing any connection.

People are getting busier by the day, even after all the work from home concepts and the co-working spaces and digital nomadic existence.

I thought the shift in work culture will give people a more human touch. But, it looks like we all have taken a different route!

Dusk view at Vettucadu Beach

Vettucadu Beach

Visited this beach recently. The beach surrounding space attracted hordes of vendors selling stuffs all kinds of stuff to visitors. In all, it looks like a market fair scene.

The number of such venrors is more in Veli and Shanghumugham area. I wonder if there's any limit to the number of carts that can be parked! Is there any need for licence or approval to start a biz here!

Does govt get any tax from these road-side vendors? Say, Rs 50 for a day!

Shining Wash Basin

Clean and Inviting... it was not this way!

It was not this way. The wash basin in the pic was unused for a long time. And, you can imagine how an unused white sink would look like. So, without anyone telling me, I took the effort of buying a new water tube and scrubbed it and made it to this state And, I'm very glad that I did. Now, there are people who use it, though they don't know that it was useless and dirty for a long time.

These days I have this major issue! Whenever I visit a restaurant, office or home then my eyes are on a scan mode to see the state of wash basin. And, in most restaurants, the wash basins are mostly falling in these states -  muddied, unclean, wet, clogged, broken wash basins are what I see most of the time.

Why can't they fix it!

Well, they don't see what I see as a problem. When there's a leaky tap, it remains this way for a long time! When dirt and waste spreads around, no one bothers. Well, it's a matter of sight! The mess is not seen!

Hallelujah!

The Storykeeper - Reading

Snippet from longreads.com

Do you read from longreads.com. I read on a random frequency. Today, I read this interview

I truly enjoyed talking with him. The two-hour flight literally flew by. We were just a couple of humans, overcoming the banality of existence to make a memorable connection with a total stranger.

Morning Walk Views around Kanakakunnu

Museum Vellayambalam Road

After parking the vechile by the road side, I fished out the mobile to capture the scene. Trivandrum is a beautiful city and it can be made even better. Yes, we need to leave it in a much better shape and spirit that the way we got from our fathers!

How to make a city friendly and humane!

Reason for starting this blog

I often wonder how many people live in my native place. During my 20's I knew many people in this town. But now, I feel alien to the place which I used to feel like home. Relatives hardly drop in, nor friends. People are all occupied, drive in big cars and heavy bike. Millennials are taking the reigns of this city which was ruled by baby boomers.

In short, I'm as lonely as a church mouse. ( so cliched terms)

Just another Photo Blog!

One reason to start this blog is to connect with fellow Trivandrumites or visitors. Also, to share pics taken from my mobile. I hope it will pique interest with the aging uncles, aunties ( my age) and also the folks who are in small business or in any walks of life.
